  Fashion Group International (FGI) Scholarship Competition  2019 https://fgischolarship.org/                        On Friday, April 12th, the UNT Fashion Design students participated in the annual Fashion Group International  Scholarship Competition  at the Dallas Market Center.  The keynote speaker for the event was Ken Downing. 146 designs were submitted to the competition and 50 were selected to walk the runway. Thirteen universities were represented and UNT had a total of 15 garments (out of the 50) walk the runway.   Students were presented with several awards for excellence in design. Fashion Design and Fibers double major, Lauren Gray, will be featured in a group exhibition at Voertman's Gallery. Lauren will be showing five garments alongside works from Drawing and Painting major, Claire Watkins, and Photography major, Ana Dria. The gallery is located at 1314 W Hickory St, Denton, TX 76201 . The exhibition opens Monday, Oct. 29th and runs through Saturday, Nov. 17th. The gallery reception is on Tuesday, Nov. 6th from 6-9pm.

Seven designs created by UNT fashion design seniors will be displayed in the TFC’s Student Study Center (ART 259).  The exhibition will be on view from 10/18-11/2.  The opening celebration is scheduled from  4:30-6:00pm on 10/18 with awards at 5:30pm.
